Hey, everyone! I hope you all are having a fabulous day! Today, I wanted to do something that I’ve never done before: a tutorial on arts and crafts. I remember how a couple years ago, I made these really cute bookmarks with just a few simple items. I still have and love them, to this day.

This is why I wanted to share how I made them with you all. This will probably be especially helpful to those who enjoy reading and/or making art projects that are fun, cute, and don’t break the bank!

So, let’s get the art party started! ✨

You will need the following materials to complete this project:

• Construction paper
• A pencil
• Scissors
• Sharpies or markers in the colors of your choice
• Ruler or another object with straight sides.
• All optional: Wire, a hole puncher, and beads (1 bead for each bookmark)

Now, let’s get into the steps:

Step 1: On top of your construction paper, use your ruler and pencil to trace or draw the shape of the bookmark. If you already have a bookmark or an object similar to the shape of one, you may use that as your guide. Try to make the lengths and widths congruent. But don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect! ✨

Step 2: Cut out your traced shape, using your scissors. If there are any mistakes as far as the lines, this is a great opportunity to fix those by cutting straighter edges with the scissors. ✨

Step 3: Take out your markers or sharpies and, using the colors of your choice, start creating the design that you desire. ✨

If all you want is a simple but cool bookmark, then you can stop here. However, if you want to add a little more to the design, then continue following the tutorial!

Step 4: Punch a hole on the top corner of the bookmark that is opposite to your most dominant hand. For example, I am right handed, so I punched the hole in the top left corner. ✨

Step 5: Cut a 5 inch piece of wire, and stick it through the hole so that one part is sticking through the front, and the other is sticking through the back.

Note: I didn’t add a picture for this step because the wire is hard to see. ✨

Step 6: Put the piece of wire in the front through the bead, so that way it is in front of the punched hole. ✨

Step 7: Tie a triple or quadruple knot to make sure that the bead is secure. Also, cut the cord shorter with your scissors. Just make sure not to cut it too short so that it won’t come loose.✨
