Before you continue, keep in mind that God does want us to do our best. He wants us to be more than average. If we trust in Him, He will change us from average to outstanding. Giving our best effort in everything that we do is part of being a follower of Christ.
We don’t do everything flawlessly. We are human, imperfect, and most importantly, God’s children. We might not do everything right. There might be a few bumps in the road. When we do fall short, we should humble ourselves and repent–through both our words and our actions.
We should use our past experiences to encourage us to do something different, something better: to do your best, and excel what’s “average.”
You might not be perfect, but you are perfectly who God made you to be. He didn’t make us to be perfect. He made us because He loves us. He’s loved us forever, and He never will stop loving us.
Although we aren’t perfect, in all things, we need to do our best. That’s what God deserves.
