Happy Sunday, everybody! Since last week, I’ve been doing A LOT of art. And while I’ve always loved it, my art class this past year has inspired me to try new things in the artistic department. Art is a blessing from God, and I thank Him that He has anointed me with the gift of creativity.
Most of you are probably unaware that I absolutely love the Disney movie Encanto. What does this have to do with the post, you ask? Well, if you’ve been following my Instagram, @princessqzion, then you know that over the course of the last 3 days, I have been posting reels where I show off some of my pencil sketches of the characters.
I’ve really been enjoying making a drawing almost every day~for me, art is extremely relaxing and one of the perfect things to do on a weekend, or any day for that matter. I want to share my art with you guys, so without further ado, let’s get into it! ✨
3.24.22. Last Thursday, I decided to draw Camilo since he’s one of my favorite characters from the movie. My recreation of his character was actually the least time consuming, considering the simplicity of his outfit. However, I still had tons of fun drawing this character. Trying to draw Camilo’s ruana from different angles was a challenge, but I like how it turned out, in the end.

3.26.22. Next up is Isabella. She might have taken me the longest to draw, but only because of the intricate flowers on her dress. I absolutely love her character design and outfit, so even though this one took me the longest, it also might have been the most fun!

3.27.22. Last but not least~for now, anyway~is Dolores Madrigal. As far as making my sketch look the closest to my reference photo, this one is probably the winner. I really like how these sketches are helping me improve in drawing eyes and hands. The ability to create accurate proportions is a skill that needs to be mastered when drawing people. I thank God that I am already seeing improvement!

What a blessing it is that when we document and keep our art, we begin to see improvement the more we practice. Art can be used to show the world who we are, what we believe, and what matters to us. It can be big or small, and made of almost anything imaginable. All it takes is a little creativity, faith that whatever you create will be better than the last, and a blank canvas.
Questions of the Day: Which of these pencil sketches do you like the most? Also, which Encanto character would you like to see me draw next? Please comment in the chat.
Thank you so much for all of your support! I thank God for every single person who has supported me on this journey. I hope you continue to have a beautiful day. See you later, peeps! <33
