Sweet Inspiration | 4 Quotes and Bible Verses to Inspire You

I was browsing some of my oldest posts on my blog, and I stumbled upon this one. Not only was the post super underrated, but I wanted to give my followers (new and old) a chance to gain some inspiration with these 4 Quotes and Bible verses. Hopefully they will make you smile, today. Let’s get started! ♡

Quote 1: “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde

Always remember that nobody else can be you, and therefore, you cannot be anyone else. Embrace who you are, and see the beauty in your authentic self. You are original, beautiful, and one of a kind.

Verse 1: Matthew 5:14 – You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

I really admire this Bible verse. It tells us how it’s important that, in all the darkness of the world, we stand out, and be the light. Blending in with the crowd isn’t always the best thing. Therefore, it is best to do things that make you stand out, in a positive way!

Quote 2: “You are braver than you believe and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. – A. A. Milne

This quote can be very much true in some situations. Sometimes, we don’t see the potential that we really have, and how amazing we really are. However, we are brave, strong, and smart individuals, even if the world cannot see that.

Verse 2: 1 Timothy 4:12 – Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

The Lord says to us, that just because we are young, doesn’t mean that we should be looked down upon by adults. God gives us the will to set an example to others through our actions in love, faith, and purity! Therefore, don’t be afraid to spread God’s word! We are all his children!

Quote 3: Making mistakes is better than faking perfections. – Assan Jallow

A lot of us have probably felt the pressure to be perfect. However, let’s be honest: this is unrealistic for anyone except God. Therefore, it is okay to make mistakes sometimes. Our mistakes are part of what make us who we are. Just be yourself, and don’t sweat it when you make a mistake! Your effort is what matters most!

Verse 3: Galatians 6:9 – Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

We can be easily tempted to do wrong things in times of trouble. However, always remember to do what is right in the Lord’s eyes. If we do, then we will “reap a harvest,” or benefit from our actions, afterward.

Quote 4: You are enough, just as you are. – Megan Markle

Although this quote is very simple, it holds a lot of truth. Whenever you feel as though you are not enough for a position, a person, or a task, remember that you are enough. You are worthy. As long as you tried your best, you did not fail.

Verse 4: Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

If you ever feel intimidated by someone, such as people from school, remember that God is always with you, and he will protect us and take care of us! He never leaves our side, even if we cannot see him as we can each other.

I really hope that you enjoyed these 4 Inspirational Quotes and Bible Verses! Always remember to be yourself and trust in the Lord. He will not give us more then we can handle, and who we show up as in the world should be a light in all of the darkness.

How to Grow in Your Faith | 7 Faithful Steps

Hey, y’all! How are you doing? Wonderful, I hope!

In several of my past posts, I have spoken quite frequently about the subject of faith. When we have faith, we are able to have the willpower to push through all of the trials of life due to our trust in the Lord. It is God’s desire to help us grow our faith in Him. But the question is, how exactly do we do that? I’ve got the perfect points for how you can make your faith stronger. Let’s get started!

1. Study; Read the Bible daily. Keep in mind that studying the Bible doesn’t have to take several hours every day. While some study sessions can be this length, it is perfectly fine to spend some or most of your days with 15-45 minute Bible sessions as you focus on 1-3 chapters at a time. The most important part of studying the Word of God is that you are able to gain wisdom and get closer to God in the process.

2. Fellowship; surround yourself with other people of faith. A big part of being a Christian is making sure that the people who we spend our time with reflect our faith. Therefore, when you attend church and other events within your community, make sure that you interact with other believers. Fellowship offers an opportunity for us to be inspired and give inspiration to and from other followers of Christ. Therefore, it serves as a great way to strengthen your faith.

3. Pray; make an effort to build your relationship with God. If you have the desire to grow in faith, then a good idea is to simply let God know what you want through prayer. Make sure that while you pray, you thank Him for what He has and is blessing you with. Then, ask Him to strengthen your faith and to give you a fresh love for Him, so that you may want to spend more and more time in His presence. From the wise words of James 4:2, we do not have because we do not ask God.

4. Forgive; learn how to forgive those who have sinned against you. The truth is we all want to be forgiven, for we have all sinned. Therefore, if we are loved enough so that we can be forgiven for our sins, we can forgive our enemies for their wrong doings. Although it is not easy, forgiving others helps us see God’s grace towards us, regardless of our shortcomings of His glory. Like the truth, forgiveness will set you free.

5. Give; take advantage of opportunities to give to others. In order to deepen our faith as evangelists of Christ, it’s always a blessing to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of others. We should always be on the look out for people to be a blessing to. God himself adores those who give out of the love of their heart.

6. Application; strive to live your life according to the Word of God. Trust me, I know that this step can be a lot easier said than done. However, it is crucially important that not only do we take the time to meditate on the Word of God, but also put God’s instructions for us into practice during everyday life. The reason why God gives us wisdom is so that we may use it for His glory.

7. Fulfillment; practice being content. While it can be tempting to focus on what we want and don’t have, it is important that we show God that we are thankful for the blessings that He has already bestowed upon us. When we are able to see the blessings in any situation, we begin to have a happier, healthier, and renewed way of life. A substantial quality of faith is trusting that despite the fact that everything isn’t going the way we envisioned, God is good to us, and He has a plan for us that will be greater than what we are capable of imagining.

I thoroughly had a great time sharing these tips for how we can grow in our faith. Just remember that as followers of Jesus Christ, we should put in the effort to do better and be better every day. Although we won’t be perfect, there is nothing that we cannot do when God is on our side. All we need is a mustard seed of faith.

Have a beautiful and blessed day, y’all! Peace in! 💖

Movie Review: Hope Lives (2022)

Anyone who is among the living has hope —even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

Ecclesiastes 9:4 ~ New International Version (NIV)
Title: Hope Lives
Rated: PG
Director: Anthony Hackett
Release Date: 2022
Runtime: 1hr 53 min
Official Movie Description
An inspiring drama that shows the triumphs and pains of a group of high school students who are victims of bullying, and how one man can make a difference.

This Mother’s Day, me and my grandmother (who is more like my mother) checked PureFlix–a Christian film streaming channel–to see if they had added any intriguing movies for us to watch. We stumbled upon Hope Lives, a new movie that was just recently released. Although I was a little unsure of what to expect from the movie, it easily became one of the best films that I’ve ever watched.

The protagonist–who is played by the wonderful director, Anthony Hackett–lost his daughter as a result of bullying, which was revealed in the opening scene of the film. Dramatic start, I know. But hey; it is a drama, after all.

While Mr. Ryan is heartbroken due to what happened, I admire how he uses his experience for good by volunteering to form a club with high school students to discuss ways to stop bullying. The fact that the movie went so in-depth into the topic –without being violent or derogatory–was super refreshing to witness.

Each of the students that Mr. Ryan counsels experiences bullying in a different form, but we really get to know each of their stories and struggles, making every main character likeable and relatable over a really short period of time.

It really stood out to me that every highlighted victim of bullying eventually learned how to stand up for themselves in a way that didn’t include violence or inappropriate language; I think that it shows the people of today’s world that while you shouldn’t sit there and allow people to mistreat you, it is more effective to stand up for yourself without punching back (neither verbally, nor physically).

As the club members begin to build friendships with one another, the film begins to dive into other important topics such as body image, self confidence, and showing yourself respect just as much as you would expect it from others. The acting feels real (another great element of the movie) and I think that makes the smallest of moments that much more powerful and memorable.

Hope Lives (2022) is the utter definition of an emotional roller coaster. While there were many wholesome, funny moments, I also found myself frozen in shock and nearly in tears, at some points. It’s honestly amazing how this film is extremely family friendly and fun to watch, yet there are a lot of powerful moments that will likely sit with any viewer, regardless of age.

Every moment that I spent watching this film was a moment well spent. I thank God for letting me watch it in full with Goodmommy on her special day.

My Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10 out of 10 stars)

Recommended Age: All Ages 10+

In closing, I would recommend this movie to absolutely ANYONE who is 10 years of age and older. It is powerful, inspirational, and a film that I believe everyone can get something special out of. This was a fantastic watch for both me and Goodmommy, and I would definitely watch it again, in the future.

Thank you so much for stopping at my corner of the Internet. God bless you all, and I will see you next time! Peace in! ✨

Happy Mother’s Day ~ 5/8/22

I wanted to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to you, your mothers, and anyone that you know who is a mother. Our mothers (and motherly figures) are some of the most special people in the world. Thank you to every woman who has nurtured, cared for, and lent their wisdom to another.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, I decided to hand-paint a gift for my Goodmommy (grandmother and motherly figure) who I am a greatly thankful for. I wanted to do something special, and give her a gift that I made myself. Considering that I’ve been painting very frequently most recently, I decided to make a painting that Goodmommy could hang up in her room to remember this Mother’s Day.

I thank God that I was able to finish this last minute. In the end, the painting ended up gorgeous, and the colors will look great inside of Goodmommy’s bedroom.

“Flowers for a Good Mommy” painted by Princess Q’Zion on May 8th, 2022. All Rights Reserved.

We plan on making this a Mother’s Day tradition in our home. This whole process was a super fun challenge; I’m excited to see the idea that God will give me next year.

Once again, Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I’ll see you next time! 🌹

5 Thoughtful Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day 💖

This Sunday is also known as Mother’s Day, where we celebrate the wonderful women whom God has blessed to deliver us into this world. No matter how old we are, our mothers are always an important part of our lives. They have given us their time through their nurturing kindness, everlasting wisdom, and love that lasts a lifetime.

So, on this special day of the year, it is important that we honor our mothers for their contributions in our lives, families, and communities. As a helping hand to everyone who has been contemplating what to do for their mothers this Mother’s Day, here are 5 thoughtful gift ideas that are sure to put a smile on her face.

Her Favorite Flowers

We can’t go wrong with a classic: a simple bouquet of our mom’s favorite flowers. Chances are, your mom has tossed around the flower or color of flowers that she likes the most. Not only are flowers beautiful with equally elegant aromas, but they can also show your mother that you pay attention to her comments and interests. A bouquet is a perfect way to show our moms how much we care.

A Gift Card

Most women have at least one favorite store or shop that they visit whenever they get some free time on their hands. Again, a good tip for gift giving is being attentive to little details such as this. A gift card is a cheap, simple, yet sweet way to treat your mother to a little something nice. After all they’ve done and bought for us on our special days, the least we can do is return the favor.

“Best Mom Ever” Mug

Does anyone here have a mom who loves a cup of Starbucks or home-made coffee in the mornings? If your response is “yes,” then a perfect gift for this Mother’s Day could be a quirky “Best Mom Ever” mug. A cup that our mothers can see and use daily serves as a constant reminder of our gratitude for every sacrifice that they’ve made for us.

Girls’ Spa Day

Most moms would love a day of relaxation. Therefore, what better way to meet that desire than by treating them to a nice spa day? Even if you don’t have the money to go out or you prefer to stay at home, you can easily whip up homemade face masks, a few robes, some cucumbers, and a nice dinner (with the help of a parent or guardian, of course.) No matter where the spa day takes place, your mom will surely enjoy it.

Sweet-smelling Perfume

Although every woman isn’t fond of the sweet scent of perfume, many (and I dare say most) are. If your mom happens to be a fan, then consider buying her a perfume of a scent that she enjoys. This is a great option for a gift, specifically if you are looking for something that will be long-lasting; a bottle of perfume could last your mother until next Mother’s Day!

Sure, materialistic gifts for Mother’s Day are always nice. However, we should never forget that the best gift our mothers could have for their special day is our time. Don’t feel pressured to get her something out of this world expensive; as long as she spends the day with her children, she will have a wonderful Mother’s Day, both this year, and every year to come. That’s something that no money could buy.

5 Qualities that I Value in a Teacher | Teacher Appreciation Week 💜

After COVID-19 hit, I think more people started to recognize the importance of teachers. Monday, May 2 – Friday, May 6 is Teacher Appreciation Week, which gives us the opportunity to contribute to all of those who are teaching and/or have taught us throughout our years of education.

Teaching has got to be one of the most important jobs in the world. So, as a thank you to every dedicated teacher around the world, I will be sharing 5 of the qualities that I value in a teacher, from the point of view of a soon-to-be high school freshman. Let’s get started!

1. Dedication to teaching (and learning along the way)

I am a strong believer than anyone who works should be dedicated to their job. Teachers who truly want to see their students reach the best of their potential and do everything in their power to help every child have success deserve a solute. In addition, I love it when teachers can acknowledge that although they are educated, there are still things that they can learn along the way, whether that is technology or learning strategies; no matter how good we are at something, there is always room to grow.

2. Strong communication

Relationships in general need a good sense of communication to be beneficial for both people. I feel seen when I have a teacher who is willing to make sure that I truly understand the topics that we are reviewing. Knowing that you can approach your teacher when you need their help is a big relief, as it shows me that they care about my growth and success as their student.

3. Patience, with a love to teach

I understand that some students can be A LOT to handle at some points, especially those who have frequent visits to the principal’s office. That being said, a teacher who is able to “handle the heat” in a calm and professional manner is likely a really good educator. This trait really shows me that the teacher can think about the best way to handle a situation in a timely manner. Along with this, I feel as though a teacher who isn’t easily angered is also able to show their empathy and genuine wish for the well-being of their students, another great quality for a teacher to have.

4. Preparation

One of my largest pet peeves (when it comes to education) is when a teacher isn’t prepared. This probably has something to do with the fact that I’m an early bird, but my opinion still stands. Although I don’t think this is the ONLY good quality of a good teacher (by far), I appreciate when a teacher is organized, and keeps good time management. Although everything doesn’t always go as planned, the ability to stay on the schedule is a very admirable trait to have in an educator.

5. Fun, interactive classes

Last, but definitely not least, I STRONGLY value when a teacher has fun classes. Sure, watching a video presentation and taking some notes will get the job done, but the lessons where visuals, audio, and hands-on activities are combined tend to be the most effective (not to mention the most fun.) I think that if every teacher knew how to make their classes enjoyable, then many more kids and teenagers would enjoy learning. That’s why I give a tip of the hat to every teacher who makes sure they are reaching all types of learners.

Teachers are an extremely important part of our society. Think about it: our teachers are with us almost as much as we are with our parents or guardians. They take a huge part in raising children to be educated and responsible adults once they enter the real world. This is exactly why every good teacher in the world deserves the utmost gratitude. They are truly a blessing from the Lord.

Thanks to all of my dedicated, wonderful teachers (from the present and the past), who have taught me things to last a lifetime.

LET’S CHAT~ What 5 qualities do YOU value most in a teacher? Feel welcome to comment down below.

In all honesty, when it comes to every trait that makes a good teacher, I believe that I only scratched the surface, with this list. I can even think of a few other good qualities, at the top of my head. Oh, well. There’s always next year. (Hint, hint 😋✨😉)

Have a beautiful and blessed day, everybody! May God bless you all and I’ll “see” you next time!✨

My Role Model (and why we all need one) ♡

Almost everyone has (or has had) a role model during their formative years. Many adults will recall a person who they looked up to and helped them become the person they are to this day. Our role models are the people who help form us into responsible adults and help prepare us for the real world. That’s exactly why every kid and teenager needs a good role model in their life.

Now, some of you may wonder who my role models are. Although Jesus himself is the role model for all of us, and the generations who will follow, I believe that God always puts at least 1 person in our lives to be a second role model. For me, that person is Goodmommy, my grandmother and guardian who I love very dearly.

What I love about Goodmommy so much is that she is a Godly woman. Throughout her life, her joys and trials were God’s way of teaching her, not only so she can be knowledgeable, but also that she may pass on the wisdom that God has given her by instilling it in me. That is why I am so thankful to Him for placing this role model in my life: He knew exactly who I needed to be my example. 💖 Thank you, Jesus! 💖

Goodmommy is and will always be one of my best friends (right after Jesus and myself.) Not only do we do everything together, but she is always a joy to be around. There are very few instances that we are together without filling the room with laughter. No matter what, even with our very rare disagreements, we always come back together again, apologize, and continue in love. Every day is a day of love, joy, and laughter.

Role models can come in many forms. While some look up to their parents or grandparents, others may see an older sibling or a friend as their role model. Just keep in mind that even though we all have positive role models, there is a such thing as a negative role model, too. In everything, make sure that the people you surround yourself with are willing to invest in you to be the best person that you can be.

The people that will stay by your side (through your joys AND your trials) are people worth keeping around. Thank them for being your role models; we never know when our last chance to do so will be.

LET’S CHAT~Who is your role model? What’s an important lesson that you’ve learned from them?

Thank you so much for joining me today! God bless you all and I’ll “see” you next time! ✨

God blesses us so we can be a blessing – Words of Wisdom #13

Philippians 2:3-4 New International Version (NIV)
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Try to think of all the things in life to be thankful for….the truth is, there’s probably too many to count. And thank God for it.

Every second, minute, hour and day on this Earth is a blessing from the Lord. But the thing is, it’s one thing to be blessed, and it’s another to use your blessings to bless others.

How can we spread God’s love if we do things hoping for a selfish outcome? In order to be His examples as His children, we should be on the lookout for how we can invest in others, just like God has invested (and continues to invest) in us.

God may show us something or put something in our lives not only so that we may be blessed, but so that we may use it for His glory by doing something kind in the interests of others.

Keep in mind that blessing people is different from letting others take advantage of you. While giving is always a blessing from the Lord, the truth is that there can be people who we may encounter in life who might try to take advantage of our kindness. And if you ever encounter that type of person, always know that its okay to distance yourself from them, if needed. You don’t need to try to be friends with everyone in order to be respectful and kind towards them.

That being said, if you have extra food, why not give it to people who need it? If you have a day(s) on your calendar that are empty, why not take the opportunity to volunteer? If you feel really good today, why not show a smile? And if we can pray for our friends, why not pray for our enemies?

Genesis 12:2-3 New International Version (NIV)
2 I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.

Being a blessing can come in many forms– a smile, a prayer, a hug, or even a few words of encouragement can do the trick. Even when you can’t do something big, do something small. It’s little things that add up.

The more God blesses us, the more we can be a blessing. So who has God placed in YOUR spirit to be a blessing to today?

5 Ways to Make the Most of This Easter Sunday

Hey, y’all–Happy Thursday! Good Friday is tomorrow, and Easter is literally just a few hops away. April 17th is when we celebrate the sacrifice that Jesus made for us when He died on the cross, rose 3 days later, and now lives to this day. Not to mention the cheerful colors, quality time with family, and delicious candy–especially the chocolate. 😋

Do you need some tips on how to make to make the most of this Easter? Well, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Attend a Church Service

Before you do anything Easter related, Jesus should come first, as what He did for us is the main reason why we celebrate this holiday in the first place. There’s no way to celebrate Easter like learning the Word of God and His declaration of love that will last forever more. Even if you can’t attend church physically, there are many services that will be streamed to allow you and your family to celebrate the reason for the season at home.

2. Customize Easter Eggs with Family

Come on, now–some of the best parts of holidays are the fun, classic traditions. And decorating Easter eggs is one example of many. What I love about Easter egg activities is that you can execute them in so many ways; a backyard Easter egg hunt, an egg decorating competition, Easter egg relay races. In other words, the possibilities are endless!

3. Bake a Festive Cake

Even if you aren’t the type of person who’s in the kitchen every week, Easter is the perfect opportunity to get your hands into a baked treat for your family. You can even crank up the fun by baking with some of your family members. Besides, when you bake a cake, you also get to make it look pretty…and then eat it with the ones you love. Family time and a slice of cake? Count me in!

4. Watch Movies to Celebrate the Reason for the Season

In order to understand the reason why we celebrate Easter, a good way to spend Easter Sunday could be to have a movie marathon of some faith-filled movies about Jesus’ life and resurrection. And some classic feel-good movies won’t hurt either. “The Star” “Hop” and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” are just a few of many great options.

5. Send ‘Happy Easter!’ Cards

One of my favorite ways to celebrate any of the main holidays (New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) is to send cards to spread the love. A card with a message as simple as something like “Happy Easter” or “Thinking of you on Easter” can surely put a smile on someone’s face. You can even send the card virtually! A big part of Easter is spreading the love of God to others who are in our hearts and in our community. One card can certainly help our strive to do so!

I absolutely love Easter, so I thoroughly had fun with sharing some ways to make this Easter Sunday the best one yet. In all things, remember to be thankful for what Jesus did for us, spread God’s love, and have lots of fun, overall! Easter is a celebration that we can all pitch into. So let’s make the most of it!

Have a beautiful and blessed day, everybody! See you later! ✨

World Autism Awareness Day | How to Support the Cause 💙

April is National Autism Awareness Month, Every April 2, also dubbed World Autism Awareness Day, is for autism organizations around the world, as well as people with autism and their supporters to come together in the stride of giving people with autism, also known as Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), an opportunity to reach their entire potential in political, economic and social platforms.

Considering that about 1 in 54 people under the age of 21 are diagnosed with autism every year in the United States (at least, according to various online sources) it’s very easy to say that autism is very common. The amount of diagnoses seem to have risen every decade. As a result, many people, including myself, have 1 or more family member(s) or friend(s) that has autism.

Because autism affects many children (and people, in general) around the world, it’s important that we do our best to support people with autism and their stride to make a difference in the communities. But, how exactly do we become aware, understand, accept, and support the cause for equality? That is where I come in.

Disclaimer~Let me say that I cannot speak from the point of view of a person in the autism spectrum. Every person, with or without autism, is different, so if you are in the spectrum, an advocate, or simply someone wanting to learn more about the subject, feel free to add any feedback in the comments to add onto to what I say and/or express your thoughts on other ways to support autism acceptance. Thanks! ♡

Back to my main subject: here are a few ways to support the cause! Enjoy!

1.) Address a Person with Autism with Respect — Most of the time, it is generally standard to refer to someone who has autism as a “person with autism” rather than an “autistic person,” if a situation where you are introducing them comes into play. While the two phrases may seem like the same thing to some, putting the word “person” before the word “autism” is acknowledging the person or people as individuals and human beings before the fact that they are in the autistic spectrum. However, you may want to ask the person with autism what they prefer to be referred to, and go based on that, as the answer can vary depending on the individual.

2.) Befriend or Spend Time with a Person in the Autism Spectrum — Try spending time with a person who has autism. Sometimes, it takes hands-on experience of being with a person to be able to understand them and how they think on another level. Showing support towards someone who is affected by autism can be a great way to spread awareness to your community and be an advocate towards the cause of celebrating differences.

3.) Educate Yourself — It can be a little tough to support a cause when you aren’t even completely aware of what autism is, how it affects people, and what you can do to help. All it takes is a little internet research to set you in motion to being a better example and advocate in your community.

4.) Donate to Charitable (and Reliable) Autism Organizations — This one may be a little obvious, but its always a great idea to support a good cause of any kind by donating to organizations that pour back into their communities. If you’d like to find some autism organizations, click HERE to view a list.

5.) Wear Blue — Blue is the “official” color to celebrate autism awareness and spreading the word in our communities. Therefore, another nice way to show your support is wearing the color blue throughout April. You can even post a selfie of yourself wearing blue and include the tag #LightitUpBlue to put a stamp on the statement that you will be making through the color.

Thank you all so much for reading some tips for how to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day as well as Autism Awareness Month. This post was really rewarding to write~it makes me happy to use my love for writing to spread awareness of messages of equality and unity.

Autism is not a disability in any shape or form. It is just another beautiful way to see the world.

Have a beautiful and blessed day, everybody! 💙
