Whom Shall I Fear? | A Christian Poem ~ Reblog

Hey, everyone! In honor of Good Friday–a day of remembrance and appreciation for what Jesus did for us–I will be reblogging a poem about the Prince of Peace today. The title that popped in my spirit was Whom Shall I Fear. It’s a poem based on Psalm 27:1, about how with Jesus, everything and anything is possible.

I hope that this poem will inspire you mightily. Enjoy!

Whom shall I fear?

When You are the Lord of lords, and the King of kings

You are good and Your mercy endures

As your many angels sing

Whom shall I be afraid?

When You are my stronghold and my refuge

You’re always by my side

And I can’t deny that you always pick me up, at the oh-so-perfect time

Why shall I be wary?

When You are a promise keeper; You speak truth with your words

No love of any kind compares

To how Christ loves the church

Who am I to You, my Heavenly Father?

I’m the apple of your eye

A branch of the vine

You set me free and made me Your daughter

Who can come against me?

When You have won this battle

Before any hand can touch me

No matter where I travel

So, whom shall I fear?

When You are the leader of the world

The many boys and girls

And pure white pearls

Thank You, Jesus

I know this to be true

Because of who You are, there’s nothing to fear

Hence, my godly fear for You

Overall, I had a lot of fun writing this poem. What I love about poetry is how you can use words to paint a picture. It’s almost like a painting, but you decorate the canvas with your words instead of art supplies. Plus, any creative platform that allows me to talk about the goodness of God is one that I favor.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a beautiful day, and God bless you all!

Whom Shall I Fear? | A Christian Poem

Hey, everyone~Happy Monday! ❤️ Since today is World Poetry Day, what better way to celebrate than to write a poem? The title that popped in my spirit was Whom Shall I Fear. It’s a poem based on Psalm 27:1, about how with Jesus, everything and anything is possible.

A poem to women and girls around the world: Happy International Women’s Day ♡

March 8th is also known as International Women’s Day: a day to acknowledge women and girls, God’s creations, as well as their contributions, progress, advances, and value in today’s world as we know it. Although every day is International Women’s Day, this is yet another opportunity for us to come together and celebrate each other, just as we are, in love.

Of course, I had to slide some Bible scriptures in here. It’s always nice to hear some words of wisdom. Here are a few empowering Bible Verses about women and their strength in the Lord. I hope you enjoy! ❤

Proverbs 31:26
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Luke 1:45
"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

1 Corinthians 11: 11-12
Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Last but not least is the poem that I wrote today for (and to) women and girls around the world to read with loving and hopeful hearts. I absolutely LOVE poetry, so it’s always exciting when God gives me a new idea to write something new. All Rights Reserved.

Some may think we aren't strong enough
That we must be stout to sit at the front end
But that's far from the big picture, you see
What they may break, we can mend

For although we might not have muscles
That can strike the hardest of steel
We do have the mentality and grace
To love, to nurture, and to heal

Love that's true, love that's real
Love that's in a home cooked meal
A hug and a kiss to seal
Love that no one can conceal

And, yes, we are feminine
But that doesn't mean we're weak
We come in many shapes and forms
And even when we're silent, we speak

Sure, we are different;
Me and you aren't the same
Nor our backgrounds, hometowns, and kin
Nor our names or our frames
But no need to be disdained

Let's come together
Celebrate each other
Love one another
As we would a sister or brother

For, although we’re not the same
At the end of the day
No one can take away our love
Because love always wins
And we’re all sisters beneath the skin

Thank you all so much for reading! Please take this time to share your gratitude to all of the wonderful, strong, and powerful women in your lives who are always there; every step of the way. I definitely thank God for the woman of God that He’s put in the place to raise me with Him. And you see, that’s what this day is about–appreciating the woman who have treated us with kindness and passed their wisdom from the Lord to the next generation.

My FIRST time drawing a still life…

Happy Saturday! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, then you might be aware that I shared what I got for Christmas of 2021 (post link here). To be honest, there are still a couple of items that I hadn’t used, at this point, so I wanted to change that, today.

One of my favorite gifts from last year was this “Drawing Techniques” art kit. Inside it provides a book of instructions about different types of pencils, focal points, lighting, shading, value, and the list goes on.

It also gives step-by-step instructions for how you can draw realistic portraits that vary from fruit to flowers to animals to people. It also includes a variety of pencils, a kneaded eraser, a sketchbook, a fineliner, charcoals, and more! As soon as I opened this gift from the wrapping paper, I knew that I would definitely put it to good use.

Suddenly it dawned on me that it’s already February and I haven’t completed any of the sketch tutorials. So today, I reviewed the tools, materials, and basics at the beginning of the book, and moved on to the first drawing section: still lifes.

The beginning still life was one apple in 3 different positions. I had never drew a still life before (aside from 3D shapes for math class) so I thought this would be a great way to practice my ability to create realism in my work.

So, here is the basic sketch. It was very interesting to use 3 different pencils (you will see the different shades of pencil in the finished product) to create dimension and make the apples look like they are round.

Afterwards, I followed the guide in the instruction manual (basically the images) and started shading in the apples to add a little more depth. I must admit that it was a little tricky to draw 3D objects on a 2D surface, but it was a challenge that I quite enjoyed.

And voilà—here is my finished product. I must admit, I think I did a pretty good job for my first time ever drawing a still life. If this post gets enough likes (I’ll say at least 3-5) then I think I’ll makes my products from this art kit—and maybe even some personal projects—for you all to view. Please follow me if you’d like to see more of my art in the future.

Question of the Day: Have you ever photographed, painted, or drew a still life? If so, did you like the experience? Please comment down below.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a beautiful and blessed day, y’all! ✨

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️❣️❤️

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all are having or have had a beautiful Valentine’s Day with your loved ones! Me and Goodmommy had a wonderful time bonding today, and we hope that you all got a chance to, as well.

Since me and Goodmommy did quite a bit, this Valentine’s Day (and we took a photoshoot. Nothing new there ;)) It’s because of this that I decided to write a wrap up of where we went, what we ate, and what we did to celebrate this holiday of love. Enjoy! ❤️

We actually didn’t eat any breakfast before we left, this morning. Therefore, the first thing we did is stopped by at a restaurant to eat some lunch, or “brunch” in our case. For our appetizer, we ordered some creamy soup with dumplings. Ooh, and breadsticks. We can’t forget the breadsticks!

P.S. we didn’t really like the soup that you see above, so actually got a different one, instead. It was chilly-flavored with some type of beef inside. That one was pretty good. Great for dunking my breadsticks in.

Then, for our main course, we both had some classic lasagna. Goodmommy ordered extra cheese on hers. The best part of the meal without a doubt! We both took the leftovers home for dinner. It was even better after it sat for a while. But leftovers always taste better when you get home. It’s logic.

You guys already know me and Goodmommy can’t go anywhere together without taking a photoshoot. Inside and outside the restaurant we took a couple breaks to take a few selfies. I wore my hair in an afro today. I must admit, it turned out pretty cute. And by the way, we were totally twinning with our cute jumpsuits!

Next off, we decided to go shopping for some gifts (for each other) and an outfit for a special meeting that I have tomorrow. I won’t give y’all any spoilers about what that meeting is, though.

I had a really great time looking around. Although I’m not an out-of-the-house girl, shopping is one of the few things that may just get me outside, once and a while. But, it’s honestly surprising that so many Valentine’s gifts and decor were still in stock.

And here’s another photo of me (inside of Burlington) because you know that I’m a selfie queen.

And after about 20 minutes of browsing, we finally found it! The shirt for tomorrows ✨special occasion ✨. As soon as Goodmommy took it off the rack so I could see it clearly, I knew that this top was absolutely PERFECT.

After a quick trip to the grocery store, we were back home. But the fun isn’t over, yet. Here are a couple of Goodmommy’s Valentine’s day gifts. She bought the tulips for herself, but I wanted to buy her something too. Turns out, in the very front of Burlington were these adorable portable pink mugs with message “Too Blessed to be Stressed” inscribed on top. And before you know it, I had bought, not one, but two of them; one for Goodmommy and one for me.

Of course, I knew I got a matching mug with Goodmommy (the one you see above) but I was very pleasantly surprised to see a giftbag and a heart-shaped box on my desk when we returned home and I started my schoolwork.

Inside the giftbag was the phone case that she bought for me at Burlington and an additional mug with the words “Happy Valentine’s Day” on top. It was actually a little ironic considering that I had already bought myself a mug. But hey, I’m not gonna complain. That just means I now have two new mugs, two hot chocolate mixes, and two new memories. We definitely won’t be having a mug shortage any time soon.

I also bought myself a 6 ft long charger for my phone and iPad. Not only because it’s convenient, but it’s hot pink, too! I took a picture of some of my items on my bed for an aesthetic touch.

Once I started doing my schoolwork, we had to do a paper art assignment using only black and white paper, so I came up with this. I absolutely love the design. It wasn’t what I was used to, but I’m very happy with the finished result. The color options really made the triangles stand out.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about how me and Goodmommy spent Valentine’s Day, and that you continue to have a day full of love, joy, peace, family, and happiness.

Have a beautiful, blessed and joyful day everyone! ❤️

This is how I spent half of my weekend…a jigsaw puzzle!!!

Note: Happy Saturday, y’all! I decided to do a Reblog since it’s National Puzzle Day! I absolutely love jigsaw puzzles, including this one that I completed about two weeks ago in under 24 hours. Enjoy!

I think that jigsaw puzzles are so relaxing. When you’ve placed every delicate piece in the right place, it’s so satisfying to see them all as one, a single image is put on display. It’s almost like a type of meditation, all while being a great way to spend your time when you’ve got nothing else to do.

One of my Christmas gifts for last year, from my great-grandmother, was a 300-piece jigsaw puzzle. At the time it had been a long while since I completed one (at least 2 years), but it was a great experience, and I love the painting that I saw as the final product.

Both me and my Goodmommy were honestly surprised at how big the whole thing was, especially due to the small size of the box and poster. However, none of us complained. The colors are so vibrant in real life, and it almost looks like a true landscape.

I even zoomed in to get a look at some of the beautiful details. I must admit that now, I want to get some more puzzles like this. Though I want the next one to be 350-500 pieces, instead. Keep in mind that these pictures are from the poster, not the actual puzzle. :))

I had started the puzzle at approximately 6:12 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, January 16th. I finished at 6:05 p.m. today, Sunday, January 17th. So basically I finished it in just under 24 hours (with long breaks in between.) Without the breaks, including sleeping, I think it didn’t take much longer to complete than 4 hours. Not too bad, right?

If you know some methods for how to frame a puzzle, and/or you like puzzles yourself, please comment down below some tips.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful, blessed day! 🧩

Be Artful! | I painted a rock…and I love it!

So, for my Visual Art course we were assigned to do Earth Art. From the start I was super excited about it, since when using natural materials, there are so many possibilities! But at first, I was also a little confused about where I would start. Fortunately, Goodmommy (my grandma and guardian) was nice enough to show me a beautiful rock that her friend gave her. And then I realized it would be perfect for my art project.

This was the third time that I’d painted a rock throughout my entire life. According to Goodmommy, the first was in Pre-K. The second was at a week-long event at church (about 2 years ago.) And the third time is now. I find rock painting so relaxing and serene, despite the fact that it’s only an occasional activity of mine. I just love how you can use the form of a rock as a canvas to make a true masterpiece. And the best thing about it is your taking something that’s already beautiful from the Earth, and using it to create something that makes a statement.

At first, it was a little difficult to paint my design. Although I had already sketched it out in my sketchbook, this was my first time making a project with my new acrylic paints. All I had previously before this activity was watercolor and washable paint, both of which do not mix with rocks. Seriously, don’t try that at home! P.S. I would know, because I already did. LOL :))

Goodmommy was super sweet to get my new paints for me. I know that they’ll probably be one of my go-tos, in the future. They’re so vibrant, and I couldn’t help but squeal inside (out of excitement) when I was surprised with them.

You should be able to get this set or something similar at your local craft store. I really love the variety of bright and soft colors. The coverage is fantastic and it’s fairly fast drying. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to make their work high quality.

Overall, I think the finished product is beautiful. I also used some Posca Pens (or vibrant paint pens) to add the finishing details. After everything dried, I added a couple coats of Mod Podge (a type of sealer) to create a glossy sheen. I’m very proud of it and I’m looking forward to showing you all my future artwork!

Oh! And I almost forgot that me and Goodmommy figured out a name for my work of art; The Garden of Eden. We’re Christians, and we both agreed that my design suits the name perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

If you’d like for me to do more rock painting in the future, please like this post and follow my blog for notifications of fantastic daily content to brighten your day.

Have a beautiful and blessed rest of your day everyone! ✨

7 Exciting Fall Activities (Outdoors and Indoors) to Make the Most of the Season 🍂

Are you fawning over fall, this year? I don’t know about you, but I most definitely am. Fall, especially at night, is so nice and relaxing. Not only does fall have excellent weather, but it’s also an amazing opportunity to do some awesome activities both inside our homes and outside in nature. 🍂

So, let’s learn some things that we can do to make the most of the season!

1. Go to a pumpkin patch. 🍁

I’m sure most people have done this in the fall at least once in their lives. However, perhaps you haven’t. Whether or not this is the case, go to a pumpkin patch with your family and friends to pick out the perfect pumpkins. Later, you all can have a pumpkin carving contest. You can even display your wonderful creations on your porch or in you home, afterwards!

2. Take a hike. 🍂

As I stated before, the weather in fall is absolutely beautiful. So, let’s enjoy it. Take a nature walk or a hike so that you can see all that the fall has to offer. I went on a hike once, and it was super fun. It’s a great way to explore nature, bond with loved ones, and get some exercise! It doesn’t get much better than that!

3. Make apple themed desserts. 🍁

Wow…I need to ask my Goodmommy if we can get some apple pie, lol. 🍎

When most people think of the fall, they think of pumpkins. But, another amazing fruit to make fall-themed foods, is apples. You can make some apple pie, apple fritters, apple doughnuts…OMG!!! Why do I make myself hungry?😩

Anyway, cooking and baking with apples will surely fill you up inside…literally.

4. Watch a football game. 🍂

Guess what, y’all! It’s football season! 🏈 If you are a fan of football, watch a game, whether on TV or in person, and watch your favorite team do their thing. Whatever way you watch, just remember to stay safe!

5. Do the Bean Boozed Challenge! 🍁

Let’s face it, candy is pretty much a tradition in the fall, especially October. To be honest, I celebrate just about all holidays with it. Me and my Goodmommy (grandmother) did this challenge a few years ago, and it was so much fun!

In this challenge, you spin a wheel that explains what jellybean you will have to eat. Each jellybean has two versions (meaning that they look the same, but they have two different flavors, one good and one bad.) you must take a jellybean that looks the same as the one on the wheel, and when you eat it, you will tell if the jellybean is good or bad.

Just make sure you don’t eat too much.

6. Write a list of things that you are thankful for. 🍂

I’m sure that we’ve all had that elementary school activity where we had to do exactly this. However, just because we grew up doesn’t mean that we can’t do this now. Besides Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Write down a list of all of the things that you are grateful for. On Thanksgiving, you could even read your list to your family!

7. Go to a fall festival. 🍁

I admit that I absolutely love going to fairs and festivals. Go to a fall festival near you, and try some fun fall activities like apple bobbing, potato sack races, and taking pictures with a cool backdrop.

I hope you all enjoyed this list of awesome activities that you can do in the fall. Remember, if you do decide to celebrate the season outside of your home, staying safe is always best!

Have a wonderful fall, y’all! 🍂

This or That! #1🥳

What’s up y’all?!? Today, I decided that I’m going to do something different: play a game! And it’s called This or That! So, basically, what this means is I will list two options (for example, pink or white.) These options could be colors, food items, clothing styles, or whatever you can think of! ✨

Anyway, I’m going to have to choose which is my favorite! And, here’s the best part: you can play with me! Feel free to comment your answers down below!

So, let’s get started!

1. Pizza 🍕 or Burger 🍔?

Oof. This is tough. I’d say pizza though, since I feel like it’s something that I have only on certain occasions (every now and then), while I have burgers in my refrigerator, lol.

2. Leggings or Jeans? 👖

Well, this all depends on the time. However, I’ll say jeans because, even though traditionally, they aren’t as comfortable as leggings, I like to buy jeans with soft fabric. I also find them more fashionable. However, I think leggings are better if I’m looking for the maximum comfort.

3. Dog 🐶 or Sloth 🦥?

I know that this question may seem a little weird, but let me explain. When I was little, I always wanted a dog. But, they require you to go outside several times a day, etc. So, then we (me and my Goodmommy/grandmother) came upon the possibility of having a sloth…and now I’m obsessed! I really want one! So, yeah, I’d pick a sloth.

4. Pink 💕or Purple 💜?

I used to love pink when I was about 4-11. And, don’t get me wrong, I still do. I’m just not in love with it now to the point where I want everything in my room to be pink. So, I’d pick purple, even though pink is just as amazing.

5. Crayons 🖍 or Colored Pencils ✏️?

I’m sure that we all used crayons when we were little. However, I personally prefer colored pencils now. They allow you to have much more control and detail, which I pay much more attention to now then I did when I was in Pre-K, lol.

Hopefully, you all learned some more about me with the help of the This or That game! Please comment down below your answer to each question, and like this post if you want me to make a post of this game again! ✨

Have an amazing day, everyone!
